For Vegetable Masala

  • Oil – 1 tablespoon

  • Mustard seeds – ½ teaspoon

  • Onion – 1 medium, finely chopped

  • Tomato – 1 medium, finely chopped

  • Green chilli – 1, finely chopped

  • Bell pepper (capsicum) – ¼ cup, finely chopped

  • Carrot – ¼ cup, grated

  • Turmeric powder – ¼ teaspoon

  • Chaat masala – ½ teaspoon

  • Garam masala – ¼ teaspoon

  • Salt – to taste

For Toasting

  • Bread slices – 4

  • Butter – as needed


๐Ÿ‘ฉ‍๐Ÿณ Method (Step-by-Step)

Step 1: Prepare the Masala

  • Heat oil in a pan over medium flame.

  • Add mustard seeds and let them splutter.


  • Add chopped onion and green chilli. Sautรฉ until onions turn soft.



  • Add chopped tomato and cook until the mixture becomes soft and mushy.


  • Add chopped bell pepper and cook for 1–2 minutes.


  • Add grated carrot and mix well.


  • Add turmeric powder, chaat masala, garam masala, and salt.


  • Mix everything well and switch off the flame. Keep aside.



Step 2: Toast the Bread

  • Cut each bread slice diagonally to get triangle-shaped pieces.


  • Apply butter on both sides of the bread triangles.


  • Heat a pan or tawa and toast the bread until golden and crisp on both sides.


Step 3: Assemble the Masala Toast.

  • Spread the prepared vegetable masala evenly over the toast.




Step 4: Serve

  • Serve hot as a breakfast or evening snack.

  • Can be enjoyed as-is or with ketchup or green chutney.

  • Add grated cheese on top for a cheesy masala toast.

  • Toast the bread extra crisp so it doesn’t turn soggy.

  • You can also lightly re-toast the bread with masala on top for 1–2 minutes.
