For Vegetable Masala

Oil – 1 tablespoon

Mustard seeds – ½ teaspoon

Onion – 1 medium, finely chopped

Tomato – 1 medium, finely chopped

Green chilli – 1, finely chopped

Bell pepper (capsicum) – ¼ cup, finely chopped

Carrot – ¼ cup, grated

Turmeric powder – ¼ teaspoon

Chaat masala – ½ teaspoon

Garam masala – ¼ teaspoon

Salt – to taste
For Toasting
-
Bread slices – 4
-
Butter – as needed
๐ฉ๐ณ Method (Step-by-Step)
Step 1: Prepare the Masala

Heat oil in a pan over medium flame.

Add mustard seeds and let them splutter.

Add chopped onion and green chilli. Sautรฉ until onions turn soft.

Add chopped tomato and cook until the mixture becomes soft and mushy.

Add chopped bell pepper and cook for 1–2 minutes.

Add grated carrot and mix well.
-
Add turmeric powder, chaat masala, garam masala, and salt.

Mix everything well and switch off the flame. Keep aside.
Step 2: Toast the Bread

Cut each bread slice diagonally to get triangle-shaped pieces.

Apply butter on both sides of the bread triangles.

Heat a pan or tawa and toast the bread until golden and crisp on both sides.
Step 3: Assemble the Masala Toast.

Spread the prepared vegetable masala evenly over the toast.
Step 4: Serve

Serve hot as a breakfast or evening snack.

Can be enjoyed as-is or with ketchup or green chutney.
